to be totally honest
i would take it to a reptuable garage
ask them to make a list and cost how much it will set you back to make it run 100% and 100% reliable
then and only then thinkabout making it faster

no i mean go over it with a fine toothcomb and get every little thing sorted so its 100%
not just get it working i mean really sort it

also make a list of its mods, as vibrio said what has been done to the internals etc

First thing is getting it running though before checking things and to do this need to fix the problems first
Then it will all get checked properly
