the question was worded as:
'Add the following numbers'

Cosmo has got it, there was a programme on about this where some were worked out like Cosmo did but the questions were worded in such a way not to explain fully what to do, and others just could not be solved at all!

yeah, when they say add they sont say if your just to add them to the actual number or add them together, hence where the million and one different answers come from!
Contests will always use questions like this, as a good chance one of the possible answers isnt said so they then dont have to give out a prize!
