just what a mate of mine that works in volkswagon said, several years ago, im talking maybe 3 years so never paid much attention to the engines..
But i want to find out more about them..

apparantly u need the wiring loom, the keys and even the clocks to get the engine working in another car? this much true?

I Dont know about the clocks but all the others will be true as it will have immbolisers built into the ECU and the transponder will be in the key. you could cheat i suppose and take the transponder out of the key and tape it to your ignition barrel. but you might aswell use the existing key for added security

I've got a mag which gives you all you need to carry out the conversion and were to get all the bits from.Think it's the Golf mag but not sure.

Think it costs about 5K profesh though

then i would be looking at ignition barrel and a seperate key for door locks.. transporter out and stuck to the dashboar

if you get a ealier AGU 1.8T you dont need half the stuff your talking about

Lupo was the conversion i was thinking of originally..

My brother has a polo with the 16valve bumpers etc.. had a bump at the weekend, so car needs a full front end and a door, was thinking of taking the car off him and using it as a project car

need to convince him his car is written off 1st cos he aint got a clue, then get it in my mates garage hidden for a few months LMAO

the vag engines are good for nearly 300bhp without changing pistons and other internals. ask on www.edition38.com you will find out loads of info on 1.8t conversions for the mk1 and mk2 golfs

VR6 into a mk2 golf like a 89 or a 90 is very very easy as well, much easier than a 1.8t

Much do the engines go for?

im talking engine box, wiring, ecu, transpoder shafts..

would do most of the work myself to keep cost down, custom mounts and shafts obviously

AGU's?? short for? take it that is the engine code for these engines?
