But other people on the site should respect that and not post smart arsed replies saying use the search, or possibly do a quick search and post links of previous posts.
Its not hard to be helpful, and newbies will be more thankful, instead of getting abused.

Would it be possible to have a drop down menu or something of common search topics, sometimes you can't search for something as it's only three letters, like EGR or something.

I disagree to an extent, if a topic has been covered before then i will direct them to the post covering it... if then they have more questions on the topic they can be asked and i will be more than happy to answer but why just repeat and repeat if we could direct them to a post which has already covered it?
Also i wouldn't class directing them to X thread as being abusive or smart arsed replies , more helpful and logical. As i said before if they then come back and say ok thanks but.... i will be more than willing to help out.

you may have not quite understood what i wrote or I wrote it incorrectly but i meant dont post smart arsed replies saying use the search, how about just doing one yourself and/or post a link.
