am i right in thinking the harder the spring is to open makes the pedal feel heavier? ill have a look round in my junk bucket, am sure i have seen some springs in there.

Try B&Q mate, plus i've seen those type of springs on washing machines, maybe if you try a local parts place

check in your car seat mate,and if not try going to a scrappy and looking for a mk 4 astra im pretty sure ive seen a spring just like it holding the lumbar support to the metal squab frame

Matt, i know it sounds silly but try a go karting shop cos i've got about 4 springs like that in my tool box for the throttle
