I said if it costs £3-4k on a conversion for a corsa...throw that much at tuning an impreza and it'd eat any wank corsa...
I'm not talking about performance, I just don't think an old impreza has any real class. I'd prefer to own a newer car that surprises a few people...
hardly "suprising" if you get beaten by an impreza...however old or new...
if you mean "surprise" as in a corsa LET then maybe. I for one would be like "woah...look at that shitbox go!"

i bet a pretty standard-ish corsa xe, maybe with exhaust induction kit, would give a standard uk spec scooby a good run for its money!

It will. Guy I know had an XE in his Nova before he put a LET in and it was in UK standard Impreza territory then. But the UK scoobys have a fair bit less power IIRC

i'm also guessing the 2.0 turbo corsa has little traction in the wet? front wheel drive turbo's are poo, I've had one...too much spin in the wet

If I wanted to buy a (chav) old Impreza I could have easily bought one. I preferred to get something a little newer and a little more 'mature'. I love the maturity of your posts too
At no point have I denied Impreza performance -- I just find the driver attitude amusing as the older cars are priced within reach of a new breed of owner...
