I use CD's I have a mixer, 2 big speakers, amp, 4 light machines, smoke machine and microphone

I wouldn't bother with vinal unless you want to do clubs etc, its way easier and cheaper to download the songs you want

PCDJ Scratch all the way. PLay ur MP3'z as tho its vinyl.

I use 2 Stanton STR8-100 decks, Cirtronic Club mixer

Rather then pay 5, 6, £7 for a piece of vinyl. I buy from www.beatport.com for 90p. All the best in every popular genre (i'm an epic trance guy)

You can spend shit loads on equipment, then again you can make abit of money if you get in the right places. I usually buy my stuff off my best mate when he has done with it, thing is he has upgraded the max nearly now so, he wont sell anything on cheap.
Hes got a home set up and one at a pub that they pay him 15 quid a night to use even if he's theone using them.
hes got, 2 vestax pdx2000's a pioneer djm-600 and a denonon dns5000 at work. Then at home he has an Allen and Heath zone mixer, 1 denon dns-5000 and a pioneer cdj1000 So i use his stuff as i haven't got the money to dish out for a set-up.

I would not like to even contemplate what I have spent on my equipment and records etc over the years...would amount to thousands...

My biggest outlay was an Allan & Heath mixer...immense!!

Look for a pair of cheap Tech 1210s on Ebay they go for about £300 (pair) now days but they are still the best turntable today. I've just spent 2K on a pair of CDJ-1000's & a DJM500 mixer which is alot of money but i really want to DJ for a living. IMO you want to go for CDJs instead of turntables as you're gonna save alot on buying music etc. You can download alot of music now days (legally) for a few quid then burn them stright to a CD-R.

spent far too much over the years on equipment and vinyl. had 3 sets of decks before technics - belt drives, shit direct drives, semi decent directs then finally 1210s... should have started off with technics as would have saved a fair bit.

i'm using vinyl less and less these days due to the cost of records at £5-8 which is far too much considering a blank cd costs 10p if that along with £1-2 for a legal download that’s obtained without going into town or forking out postage charges. I would seriously consider a decent set of CDJ's rather than turntables or even 2 CDJs and 1 deck for playing vinyl only releases, scratching, etc.

pioneer cdj 100s can be had on ebay for around 160-200 each, decent mixer for the same and 1210s for around 400.
