this is what they do:

try and get to know you, make you fall for them, they'll talk to you everyday till you want to meet, then they'll ask you to meet, and when you want them to come over to you they'll get you to pay for the ticket etc.. so you send the money over, and they get off and you won't hear from them again.

Happened to someone i knows uncle.
