There is a time and a place, in traffic isnt one of them.
So true. I especially noticed this bit where he says, 'he chased me, but i overtook another car and hung it round the corner back into the town where i live..... i was chuffed to bits'
Sounds like a bit of a risk that and a bit stupid!

we both got stuck behind a car but i overtook the two of em and whent past him, he chased me, but i overtook another car and hung it round the corner back into the town where i live..... i was chuffed to bits
why do people buy these cars if they cannot handle them?
im no michael schumacher, but pulling away from people through handling the car well is loads better than just straight line speed.
  good joke my friend!

maybe if the ctr was in 6th all the way and trying to build up speed from 'slow moving traffic' and the corsa probably dropped it into second and was hitting the limiter.
CTR's are quick and i dont even think a tuned red top would beat it esspecially if the CTR was using using the whole rev range!
p.s. my brother has one and iv driven it, tis much quicker than my GSi

They get around 14.8 - 15.2 on the 1/4. They are quick, but a tuned redtop will beat it!!!

just for the record.
i was not racing in a town, i was racing on a main road (which i travel on about 6 times a day) in the dark (able to see headlights coming other way)
i wofk for honda and drive CTR's day in day out, so i know how quick they are and how they handle.
OBVIOUSLY the CTR driver was a bit of a shit driver (well, quite a bit), but i can assure you he was giving it some down the straights, just not pushing it to the limits round the corners like me.
and finally. i am NOT saying my car is faster than or handles better than a CTR, all i sed was i beat one bacause obviously he could'nt drive, not because my CAR is better than his.

Yeah, but was he a shit drive OR just not actually realising you were racing?!
As even a shit CTR driver would have waved good bye to you as he flew past!!

think you all need to read the post again...
He only got past it because he took a risk and overtook when the CTR driver didn't want..
He is not saying his GSI is faster FFS

CTR is a fast car my mate has one but needs to be in the right gear to be fast. I was with my mate in his and an Audi A4 2.0 FSI raced him off the roundabout but my mate was in 3rd instead of second so was only at 4000 rpm and the A4 rapped him
CTR is quick if driven correctly. U need to learn how to drive a CTR before its fast
