Supposed to be very carefull and give them no knocks and then have them calibrated when installed i think.
You'll defo move something inside it trying to move it in a car.

First I heard, nothing that came with mine told me I had to have it calibrated after I installed it!

I would worry mate, just be careful not to knock it too much and it'll be fine!

Wrap it in bubble wrap or something to protect it a little from bumps.

From your posts today though you don't have a lcue.

I may very well be wrong, but I would err on the side of caution.

if i took the top half of, ie the screen, surely the projector and the wires will stay connected the bottom half and jst the screen and plastic cover will come loose. so i cnt see how this will affect anything, i know with the projector still connected to the bottom itl still be high but it mite be much easier to transport.

what u reckon?

Ah well!

Obviously he doesnt find the fact that I own one, and transported it from my old house to my apartment experience enough to give advice!

You can have a go at taking it apart mate, but if you do and anything does go wrong in the future they wont pay out on any warranty as you opened it up!

I had actually forgoten about the scotland one.

This is what one guy on an av forum is doing to move his for reference.

my current plan is to build my own "container" for the tv- i think i'm going to tape a couple of very large boxes together, then cut them diagonally so that one side is as tall as the tv, while the other is only about 1.5ft tall (so i wont have to lift the tv too far off the ground). i'm gonna glue several layers of bubble wrap on the tall side to protect the screen, and build a wood frame out of 2x4s to add stability to the bottom of the box. after that, i'm gonna pad the bottom (probably with an old comforter or something) to dampen any shock. get a few guys to help me carefully lift the tv into said assembly, then i'm gonna get some packing straps to secure the entire package in all directions. this will all be carefully loaded into a moving van, and surrounded with mattresses and pillows and couch cushions and whatnot, then i plan on driving very, very slowly to the new apartment.

That is going well over the top! When I got mine from Sony it was just in a large box with a foamy sheet covering over the tele and a few pieces of polestyrene to keep the shape of the box!

The people who deliver should know how to handle it properly and should be able to set the convergence properly when delivered.

As I said I could be totally wrong here but from memory I'd be carefull because you could fuck it up.

iv just unscrewed the screen and look behind it, all the electrics are on the base which is good, and the back of the screen comes away with a few screws and so does the screen, so it is in 3 pieces which shud be okay to move now in a car, just got to be careful not to move the projectors
