point open face of ball at ground, rotate JUST the wrist in a circular motion, don't try to go faster then the ball, feel di riddum, feel di ride

You got it then. You should be able to feel the force when it gets going, it makes a different noise if your are doing it properly, if its just rattling your moving your wrist too fast.

Its hard to get started at first but you soon pick it up.
