Add to that Reyes...Ljundberg...Lauren...Toure...
I could go on...but AW is an excellent judge of talent...
Have faith in him I say...
am not a gunner either before you accuse me of bias...
Close, Viera was bought from AC Milan not Inter and Heney was picked up from Juventus for a snip (I thought it was closer to £6m) where he was playing as a winger! AW saw the potential, snapped up a bargain, stuck him up front and he's now one of the worlds best strikers - look at Bergkamp, he was picked up from Inter for a bargain when he was considered to be getting over the hill and he has done a job for them for the last few seasons, Kanu, again picked up from Inter who were worried about the hole in his heart and he was handy for Arsenal for a couple of seasons.
Wenger does know what he's doing and I was certain that selling Viera had opened the door for Jenas to come in and take his place but it now seems he's on his way to Spurs! That will leave a sour taste in Wengers mouth I bet!
Oh and btw, I'm not a Arsenal fan - I support Ipswich Town and Inter Milan.

People should bare in mind that all legends fade at some point... im not necy saying that is happening but blind faith wont get us anywhere - Wenger has done remarkable work and is arguably the greatest spotter of talent of all time?
but his utter refusal to admit when he has signed a shite player infuriates me... he kept hold of stepanovs for too long an has done the same with cygan, instead of floggng him and replacing him he just sticks with him no matter hopw poor he is!
Henry was £10m BTW
I am sure that in January when we lie somehere mid-table the money will be spent but by then it will be too late
Arsenal wont have a problem with that rule unless it stipulates that they must be in the match day squad?

ONE ARSENE WENGER,
Robbo, quit your moaning fool. Wenger knows what he is doing. no-one in England can compete with Chelseas money.
You also seem to be forgetting the fact that he has signed an awesome player in Hleb and Van Persie is going to be wicked. Fabregas well, he is brilliant, clichy will be a good player and something in the back of my mind tells me Bentley is going on loan instead of a permanent (sp) move as he is waiting to see how the Pires contract talks pan out.
Dont jump to a conclusion and start calling Wenger a tosser. We all have our opinions when it comes to football and what managers should do but in reality its a lot more difficult than Championship Manager makes it out to be

Poom is a good goalkeeper. Certainly more confident than Lehmann in any case. Surely this is a plus?
I agree with the fact that he shouldn't be letting his English youngsters loose. Bentley was a fantastic player and showed this even in the small number of games he played.
Cygan needs to go. How the fcuk he scored 2 the other week is beyond me.
Chelsea will be fine with the European ruling, Joe Cole, Lampard, Terry, Duff, Wright Philips. Plenty of English talent there.
The only hope we had of contending with the likes of Chelsea was to splash out on some big names. This hasn't happened and we won't be winning anything this year. End of

Sorry I agree with Robbo, Arsene Wenger is struggling and I think he knows it, and like Robbo says his hatred for English players would make me furious if I was a Arsenal supporter, all there youth players bar Ashley Cole have all had to leave because of it, even Ian Wright publicly said that Arsene had a problem with English players.
Look at Chelsea though, they have Lampard, Terry, Cole, Wright-Phillips, Johnson, Brige in there team and they are winning things.

Mourinho often publically states that an english team should have an english core... yesh they bought must oif them but still... Bentley aint coming back... van persie wud be good if he kept that temper down, clichy is good no doubt and so is fabregas... but they were all signed a while back now and besides, the 1st team is awesome no doubt but the depth is awful, they ahve a tiny 1st team squad and the fringe players rent that impressive IMO

Poom is old, hasnt played for a year and wasnt even a 1st choice in the champ.. i know he used to eb a useful goalie but hes not better than almunia... agree about the rest, cygan should have been shown the door last yr and bentley will be awesome 1 day IMO

just wait mate, I reckon Chelski will get what's coming to them. They pretty much have 22 international quality players. Players that are going to want 45+ games a season, Mourinho can't give this to them and so they'll get the ump, regardless of wages. There will be some super deals flying around I reckon

Arsenal, just think your jumpin to a decision too quickly I agree with some aspects of what you are saying especially with regards to Bentley. I do think Poooooooooooooooooooooom is a good keeper, and, barring injuries to Lehman he wil probably only play in the first 2 champs league games.....though I could be wrong

Its not that as I agree with you there, but weve had plenty of fantastic homegrown talent an he lets them all leave, the main ones being Steven and Stuart Taylor, Pennant, Bentley, Upson and now Hoyte... along with a LOT of younger players that hadnt made it to the first team.

I fear you could be right but its too early in the season to tell. Im quite disappointed they didnt get Jenas.....specially when you consider he only cost Spurs £7mil......
Like I said though, we will see by the end of the season

couldnt agree more about SWP.....I think Ian will slap him and he will join arsenal in 2 years when he has only made 20 starts for Chelsea
