hardly the best teams the countrys have to offer

Liverpool = Champions League Winners 2005
CSKA = UEFA Cup Winners 2005

I think its safe to say there 2 pretty decent sides. I mean take Liverpool for example...it takes a decent team to beat Juventus Chelsea and AC Milan en route to winning the CL.

Less of the jealousy

i support a championship team, a million miles from the top half of the premiership, you should feel the same, afterall, your a million miles from the top 3...

We have won more trophies in the last 5 years than any other Premiership side...yeah a million miles away

oh the bitterness of a championship team supporter

How can you question our European win last season, we beat Juventus and Chelsea over two legs, and came back from 3-0 down to beat AC Milan, it wasnt like we had the easiest run in the cup ever.

We will finish that group ahead of Chelsea and get to the semi's. Along with finishing in the top 3 this season.

The way I see it, until someone else wins the CL, Liverpool are the best European side at the moment, otherwise, why have the CL? it would be pointless?

liverpool are shite, as is proved in the premiership every season. I admit i havent got a fuckin clue how a team that boring and inconsistent won the champions league, but they definitely wont do it again.

Liverpool may have won the champions league last season but if last nights frankly embarrassing performance against a second rate Russian team is anything to go by they will not do so again.

Divy

Erm Stuart Green on 606 reckons the exact same thing, it's a blatent money making bull shit mickey mouse cup. Ask Rafa, I bet he would've been happy not playing in it.

What does it prove anyway? That the Champions League winners are better than the UEFA Cup winners?? I thought that'd be obvious

It is pointless.

CL = Champions League

Can't recall Liverpool winning the Premiership for a long time, in fact ever!

But yes your logic is correct I guess, they won Europes top competition so in theory they are the best Europe has to offer.

Nath you seem to have a good understanding of what I say regarding football, looking through the other 40 odd posts most of the replies are childish playground insults.

I'm not saying Liverpool will win it again, but thy won it last year and everyone can't deny it, so until the Champions League Final is over in 2006, we can't really take the shine off it for Liverpool.

Champions League is called Champions League for a reason, I agree with you Nath, only Chelsea should be playing in it this season.
