depends wot u want really, calibra is not silly fast until tuned
the audi is probably a better base for engine tuning and 4wd won't go tits up

The 1.8t lump is very tuneable indeed, if u had extra money go for the S3

180bhp is comfortable for FWD with traction control, LSD etc. Its just a different type of drive. The Clio wouldn't be a better car with RWD. There is nothing wrong with the 'physics' behind it.

tbh i doubt that many people drive round like the stig every day and the whole FWD/RWD issue doesn't matter
having 2 cars is the way forward

1.8t's not bad - but they do need a kick up the arse to make them quicker.

Firslty there's no way i'd throw £8k at a claibra it's gonna be big hassle and loosing money in the end.
Clio 182 is a well balanced car and being fwd does not have a bad affect on that type of car it's not like you're trying to put 250 bhp thru the front wheels
I'd love an s3 but for that money i'd avoid (as with that type of car i'd want it slightly newer). I'd be inclined to agree with stu and go for the s14a for about £6k then throw a couple of g's getting a bit more power out of it.

ive seen em hit 180-190 but i have never seen a standard one pick up that much power off a chip.
They are very heavy.
The S3 is a great drive with the 225bhp though. Defo not to be sniffed it.
