Cheers guys, hes been having steak for tea everynight the last few days and will till he goes on monday!
Not sure if i want to with him when they inject him though

I'd avoid seeing them put him to sleep, just remember him for all the great times, say your goodbyes at home, in a friendly environment.

I watched my cat be put to sleep who i had had since i was 1 and a half and at the time it was really sad, but i am glad that she died with me with her, because she wasn't as scared as she would have been if i had left her with the vet.

but
id like to be there if my pet was put down, if the relationship is good like, it would be good for it to see the people it loves most there before he goes wouldn't it?
anyway, sorry to hear about it brad, i dont have a dog or cat, just a rabbit  which i have taught to play footy with and if anything happened to the rabbit id be really sad...

well hes still here but hes going to put down at 11.30!
Think i want to be with him just to let him know that hes still with me in my mind

That was possible the hardest thing ive ever done in life, after he was sedated he just layed down, they put the catheta in his vein and gave me and mum 2 minutes alone with him.
Then when they injected him he looked at mum and me and licked me and then shut his eyes, and his heart stopped beating within a few seconds.
They then took him away to be cremated and were going to have his ashes back and spinkle in the garden.
I know weve done the right thing as the vet said he had so much fluid on his heart and lungs he had a few days left.
At least he went peacefully
