if u enjoy doin up ur car then y not just do it.

the insurance on an impreza/evo is stupid until ur bout 25 neway

and for 6k u rnt goin to get that new a model etc.

i think a XE/LET corsa is a greeat idea.

and knowing steve if he buys another car say evo or L200 ( ) he will not leave that looking standard, coz he is a big dawg like Tim Westwood so he will spend load on that etc etc

personally i prefer to have a LET corsa and upset lots of scooby owners on dual carriageways!!

Having a scooby, evo is nice, but everyone has them the same!
I like cars that have character and are different.

Steve - hi spec brakes they will do you a deal if you say mag feature blah de blah,
get the cage or go for carisma leather retrim!!!
finish her off and enjoy her!!

Each to their own like I said, I was just talking from experience!

When you get in a car that handles, brakes and grips as well as it goes in a straight line you see the big picture!

All I reckon is you dont waste stupid amounts of money on a car that is worth very little!

Say what you want, but when im in my 6k corsa and some chump in a 15k type r rolls up next to me at the lights and starts laughing.

I just have to show him the way, especially when you leave him there, get to the next lights and just laugh back!

To me thats the fun of it all, if i had an evo, scooby and some little fucker in a Frst, or a nova beat me i would look the chump!

I just love unpredictable cars, kit cars, mk1 escorts, corsas,
things people dont expect and i would prefer that to a run of the mill production car.

The kit cars we have built just cheer me up the most, when we built the megabusa westfield and this guy in ferrari 355 at a track day was mouthing off how much money he earnt, how good a driver he was, how fast his tuned ferrari was.
1st bend on the 1st lap he gets overtaken by a 17 year old who has had a liscense for 3 months, who proceedsa to then lap him about 3 times in a 15 minute session!!
he didnt talk to anyone after that

stu im not saying theres anything wrong with p1's etc, my dad had one and it was a lovely car, drove superb, handled superb and would beat a let corsa on all occasions.
But with not being able to afford to repair if it went wrong, insure, run the damn thing!

Obviously i will need a more practical car at one time in life and scooby etc would fit the bill, but while im young and can put up with bumpy ride and a loud car i shall enjoy it!

Totally pal, as I say its each to their own! The question was asked as to what we think Steve should do. Having having a corsa of a very similar spec to his and owning it for about 4 years I just commented on my views of that, especially now 4 years on after selling the Corsa and having owned a few other cars.

I agree with Stu, I built a feature car, it was good, but I was lucky in that I got similar amounts back that I put into it, but I spose when you get older interests change to property and different types of cars

If your losing interest in it, dont keep it for the sake of it, put the money into something you really want!

Yeh i totally agree rob,
it all depends on the situation.

I looked into selling mine and purchasing a car for under 8k.

focus st170, nissan 200sx, clio 172, astra mk4 turbo,

i test drove 3 of the above cars and i found my corsa to be more fun to drive.
I cant insure a scooby, evo etc as im just 20 but i can insure a c20let corsa for some reason

i think i need to sort out some basics with the car too.. after driving it this lunchtime in the rain it was all over the road.. need the tracking and all that sorted, then some GOOD tyres

then onto more performance parts (brakes, exhaust needs fixing, diff)

the clutch is ace on this car, its an uprated one and bites really well.. so no need for that..

i might buy a lil shitter so i can take the corsa off the road, or use it as a weekend/sunny day car..

we shall see
