IMO modern apprenticeships are wank
i know loads of people who left school to pursue them, got paid wank money for slogging their guts out for big companies, and ended up either dropping out or getting no job when they passed

have u eve thought about an aprenticeship?
depending on the places you go for it you can make an ok amount of money but not overly great!
what can they give u a 5yr caution for, its actually quite stupid cos u can go into the police with a "light criminal record"!!!

This is the decision i made, i was offered a job when i finished my a levels working for lancaster car group.
Sell ferrari, porsche, maserati and bentley.
But i didnt fancy the idea of sales targets and sitting in an office chasing for a car buyer.
That was 20k a year id say.
So i chose to go to uni and study my main interest in life - motorsport.
This way i can get a job i enjoy and pay to me isnt a huge factor as long as i wake up and want to go to work.
Corb - speak to brittish gas my cousins just qualified as an engineer, 20k a year, van, 1 year training he loves it and was in car sales before hes home at 4 each day and really enjoys it.

Im starting at Swansea, and can`t wait after going through maths and physics a levels. Been wanting to do it since I was looking for jobs in motorsport at 13 as the careers adviser couldnt help me apparently and found oxford brookes. Been set on it since so it has been a long time comming. You doing BEng or BSc?

4 year BSC,
Oxforf brookes was ok i looked there however they just slagged the other uni's off, plus herts was a nicer atmosphere and more hands on so chose that one.
Swansea i found to be very low budget course but vast amount of hands on

I went to Swansea planning to goto oxford brookes but when I got there it was just awsome, really nice people the hands on and the buildings.
Oxford brooks made me look like a dickhead as I had to hand out booklets as I was a little late (3 hours in the car on a snowy day involving the M25) by some old todger
The buildings looked like an indian sweet shop. Hated the place, just a load of sheds.

I wasnt majorly impressed with swansea though but i guess each to there own, preston UCL was by far the worst of them all.
I enjoy the course, learn lots, go racing, go karting, get to look at f1 parts, get to dyno engines, have lecturers that still work for race teams and one for ford uk - he test drove the series 1 rs turbo 1st one in the uk as he was suspension designer.
All good stuff

Worked in a pub/restraunt for 5 years.
Started when I was 16 as a kitchen porter doing dishes etc part time.
Went on to waiter for a year then did bar for three years.
Last year or so I've hated it. Hated going in, pay is pathetic and hours are SO unsociable its unreal.
Quit last sunday and started at Halfords working on Parts & Ripspeed doign 30 hours a week - I'm still a student.
Best move I've ever made.

I dont mind the job im in atm, hours are ok and the wage is good. Xmas bonus is a really good incentive also
However im dreading leaving when i eventually join the police, but its what i want to do.
Id like to think the company i work for would offer me more money to stay, but i dont think thats gunna happen
(obviously money isnt the reason ive picked the carear path i have) but id like to think that my current company would do their best to try and keep me on

I have an easy job, realistic targets, and decent shifts.
However if I had to do that job for the rest of my life I would blow the office up.
Going back to uni to do law and get a proper paid job

5 years Corb?
Was that for the £5 oral promo?
Do you have to have a special license?
They certainly seem to be clamping down on unlicensed Corsa brothels.
