TREK are very good bikes. very lightweight and use superb componets.

Why not get yourself a nice second hand bike for that money, that's what I did until I got back into cycling properly. Just sold mine for what I paid for it a year ago and I'm now after a Specialised Rockhopper Comp Disc 05 cant wait til the weekend

Mine was good tho cost about £400 in about 1994

I remmeber I used to be a proper bike snob, skit at anyone who thought they had a good bike that was 'out the catalogue'

PMSL I had a multi coloured emmelle aswell I was about 9 or 10 it was orange, yellow and green my mum bought it off my brothers mate for me for £50 or something didn't even have simaneo (SP) gears iirc

Tom yes the same colours Shimano was a bit upmarket for Emmelle TBH. was something gay like John Deere Gears oooh arrrh.

My mate also had the Raleigh Wolf with sound effect control panel
