they do brake down true it goes through brake discs and suspention like hell cost loads to run leaks water in the cabin and exhausts fall off sometimes But.

Its fast and i mean really fast weighs 1050KGs and has 475 BHps, work the Power to weight. nothing much beats these. And the sound is amazing. only 2 cars i like more are:

Dodge Charger RT & Shelby GT 500 (1968)

its a proper example of an un refined Tourque filled V8 not the Girly ones in the 360 modena,

so lets look back, you could have a TVR Cerbera, second hand, with a lovely but unrelibable V8, and have water dripping on your head, or a brand new Monaro VXR, which is probably not much slower, and very reliable and comfy ?

And if you need a car to pull a girl then you need to get out more!!

I drive an Astra GTE, so I would be well fcuked if i relyed on a classy car to pull women!!

I drive it because its a fcukin performance bargain, and I appreciate it for what it is.

since when does it sound nicer,u heard both on the road, u driven either guessin not.
why woudl bigger b better in a perforamance saloon car.
better specced but its gm parts meaning its shoot.
cheaper maybe but people dont buy cars they go finance meaning it doesnt matter if its cheaper at the start to buy but if u lose less money on it coming to resale then the m3 is better.
paying for a name. its not like clothes, u paying for a car that IS better, BUILT better and is an all round better car, and thers prob no car journalist who would pick a monaro over an m3

i think you are wrong pal, in a few years, monaros are going to be worth shit loads, simply because the public desires them so much, and you arent getting many shipped from auz per year. Looks is down to personal preference, both good looking cars IMO, but build quality is fantastic in Monaro, if a little too plasticky, but well put together and very very comfortable.
As for handling, a monaro is as much fun, and just as quick as an M3 when on the edge, or so the journos are saying.

but thats the thing, car journos in the UK and in Auz are choosing the Monaro over the M3, simply because they are so similar in many respects, yet so much price difference. German engineering is no longer a prized gift to BMW and MB, Holdens are extremely well built and designed for the extremes out here in auz. You could tank a Monaro across the barren Great Sandy Desert and KNOW you are going to get through.
