actually OJC we were in the playoffs pretty much all season but slipped out when we lost to sunderland, but then went back into them when reading lost at cardiff, then we beat watford last game to secure place.

Its also a 46 game season, and the point of deciding the final premiership place is to make the end of season more interesting. The point of playing 46 games is to guarentee automatic promotion which you didnt and thus had to settle for playoffs
