Again, you're not grasping this ''supporter'' malarky.
Looking at "your" teams scores on teletext does not make you a supporter, neither does a sky sports soccer sunday 100% record sitting from your armchair.
You more than likely started "supporting" Manchester United circa 1999 when they were winning domestic titles all over the shop.
You aren't from Manchester, you don't live in Manchester, have no ties whatsoever with Manchester, and they just so happen to be the most successful English club of the past 10 years.
Why do you support Manchester United?

I support Manchester United. Im not from Manchester.
Am i not allowed to support them either? Your argument is flawed.

By supporting them, are you referring to actually going to an actual game? Or just being content with watching them from your armchair 100 mile away?
There is no rule to say you cant support them, but ask yourself; would you be a Manchester United supporter should they be mid-table of Division 2? Would you fuck.

I have seen them yes. Ive even seen the reserve team. Im also a Match Member. I got my first shirt in '94.
Of course id support them if they were in Div 2, i wouldnt be too amused but id still support them.
Do you think all the Leeds fans have stopped supporting them because theyre no longer in the Premiership? "Have they fuck".
Im sure you'll still support Newcastle when you join Leeds in the "Championship"...

Therefore, being a match member, you should be able to distinguish what an actual supporter is. I'll put money on Charlene (As well as many, many others) having never attended a game in their lives, but still reckon they "support" them.

Theres also the factor of being able to afford tickets and transportation to the match.
£30+ per game is alot of money for some people.

im a man utd supporter. im not from manchester, but my uncle is. he took me to my first ever football match when i was 5 or 6, and ever since then ive been a man utd fan. i dont go to every single match, and admittingly, ive not been to a game since i was in high school. i still support them though, does that make me a glory hunter?

What the fcuk I don't support my geographically closest team (tranmere) and I was born in manchester (only lived there til' I was 3 or 4) and I support liverpool. I have only been to a few liverpool games but I pretty much get to the pub or watch on telly every game that i can, I follow the league, any cup we are in at the time.
Am I a supporter?! & don't say I don't contribute anything cos' I buy the shirts and have loads of year books etc etc.

I hate Man Utd, I hate all the glory supporters over in Leicester.
Who recon they've supported them since they knew what football was.
To all you Man Utd fans who live other than Manchester..
You're all glory supports.

that logic is flawwed. i support man utd, because my uncle got me a top, and took me to the game when i was young (my first ever football match). i dont support birmingham (my 'local' team) because ive supported man utd since i was a child, and im not changing just because i live in the area. And now my uncle lives in sheffield, but is still a man utd supporter.
i kno the type of people you mean tho. round here, no-one supported chelsea, but since the whole roman abromovich thing, and the fact that chelsea are now 11 points clear at the top, you see more and more people wearing the top.
off topic: the chelsea sponsor for next season will be samsung mobile.

I think he meant would you have started supporting them in the first place had they been in division 2! not if they got relegated down to that division!
I support Arsenal but since moving to Bournemouth not been!! I attend Bournemouth matches though!

what aload of shite mate, ive been an arsenal supporter since i was seven used to have a season ticket, i havnt seen them play for nearly 5 years due to the fact its near impossible to get tickets...enless your a member, which you have to pay for as well, so does this mean for the last five years i am not an arsenal supporter?
