Nothing wrong with Boxsters

Although i'd go with the Elise. They are simply awesome and handle like nothing else. For a weekend car you can do far worse than an Elise.

the problem with the s2000 is that it will always only ever be a honda which in some peoples eyes is just like a ford. a porsche however will always be a porsche and it doesnt matter if its the best or the worst. its all about the brandname for quite alot of people. It all depends on what you want from a car though at the end of the day

I'd get a house first, then the porsche! Tis a good feeling owning your own house, better than a car

yea but its bang for buck with the s2000/elise, where as the porsche is fucking expensive and you dont get alot for it (like J100 said).

And your just agreeing with buying a car because of the badge, and the boxster is just one of those cars like the TT - shit to drive, shit expensive to maintain, but has the badge/name that gives you respect with the townie slappers

However, fletch its your car isnt mate and if your happy then go for it - but maybe take a few cars for a test drive (like an elise, boxster, vx220, s2000 etc) and see whats better as a weekend car

Personally I wouldn't buy a boxtser cos I'd always wish I had a 911. But if your going to get one, go for an S, there are very few roadsters than can keep up with an S. The noise is to die for and they look the part.

Anyone can have a Honda......

well for a start 14000 to 15000 will only get u high Mileage 2.5 version on a P or R plate
I was seriously considering buying one until I went to look at one. I would suggest you look at a boxster around this age - they don't age very well

Worst issues are the interior quality - then comes servicing cost u must have full Porsche service history or you will never sell it on

I have decided to get a merc class coupe instead

As everyone knows i love Boxsters, people who say they're a poor man's porsche annoy me, as they can't afford any porsche. they are built to the same quality as a 911, and handle very very well (some argue better than the 911)

One thing to note is servicing costs, first service on my Dad's was about £250, second service is something like £400 IIRC, i'd hate to think what the 6th and 7th ones are like

Even though you get more car for your money with the s2k I would still take the Boxster anyday...

My head would be screaming at me to go Honda but my heart would win and I would go for the Porsche...

Some may say its only for the badge..but we buy cars like this to enjoy and make ourselves feel good...I would feel a hell of a lot better driving a Porsche than a quick Honda...

Just my 2p's worth
