 | Vibro, did I say anywhere that the car mystically stays cool on its own? NO

I clearly said above there are two ways of keeping something cool. Blowing cold air on or sucking it away.

I hate it when you have to repeat yourself for thick people ROFL

My car is running on a 1985 1.0 8v Nova radiator and fan and its fine with the X16XE.

 Can't see why a 1.2 8v rad would'nt be enough for a C20LET to be honest.

They are ok as it happens, even on stupidly tuned LET's.

The reason the rad has burst is not down to heat generated.

When driving the temp guage hardly gets off the first two lines. At absolute max it gets to 90. I don't see a point in making it cooler.

drive with the heater off and see what happenes. if it stays cool then I appologise

You will be apologising, providing his engine is running correctly and his head gasket is all spot on.

so if you go for a long blast using the turbo and having the heater off it stays relatively cool with a 1.2 rad

Yes, it's very rare mine goes over 90 whilst driving, C20LET's are better performing at high speeds, the block design and head design was specifically altered to run better and withstand extra heat, 6months before production was due to commence in Belgium.
However when your idling in a traffic jam, the temp will obviously rise till the fan sticks it's nose in.
