can i give it a going over with some 2000 grit or just lacquer straight away?

and i definately dont lacquer the plished metal. i do trust u i just also heard it would help protect my lovely shiney metal s i wont have to keep cleaning it

it wont stick i wouldnt think. you dont have to sand the paint before you laquer

i no i dont have t, but can i? it would help it look a little better. i just want want to be able to c any scrath pattern thrught the lacquer th. but 2000 should be ok?

2000 wet, would be fine before lacquer, as long as you built up the layers before. SOme people try to put lacquer on, just before the last coat of colour is just dry.
