Not dragging this out, however if you refer back to an autoexpress edt back in 1993, all you need to know about a cav turbo performance compared to an ecsort cossie is all in there

Hmm....last time I got into a race with a calibra turbo I was in my 180bhp RST and then it was fairly level pegging.

Can't remember having trouble with any 1.6 corsas......

becasue it would be typical of someone owning a 1,2 saying they can beat a 2.0 turbo in a race

FFS so many dicks on this site. Why would this guy come on this site and say that if it wasn't true.

Ok so the Cav driver might of been shit / not wanting to push it to the limit - where as the corsa driver had more balls, but thats what he said! he never said a 1.6 would beat a cav turbo in a straight drag!

SteveW (snowy) will tell you about how I actually managed to beat his mates 2.0 Astra in Milton Keynes.

I was taking more risks and not lifting off at all taking the roundabouts at about 60 / 70 - where as the astra being heavier was slowing back down to about 40 for each roundabout.

So where I would exit doing 60-70... he was only doing 40-50. Ok so he'd start catching me but then another roundabout would come up and I'd just keep foot planted and he'd back off.

I don't see how it's not the same here. Down the straights he got thrashed, but then the guy braked early as he's in a heavy CAV with a heavy engine and matey with his corsa had a chance to catch up.

That's heavy enough... plus not that nimble for roundabouts. Plus if he was old enough to insure a cav turbo he probably was old enough not to take too many risks (knowing that he could thrash the corsa on the straights) - so was braking a lot more / early.

Corsa ain't exactly nimble. If you don't understand what understeer is then take a Corsa round a roundabout at speed.
