The main roundabout in Carlisle

Derwent water at Keswick flooded up to the underside of that house roof!!!!

Havent got any pics of near my house but similar sort of thing, massive trees or floods blocking the road

Saw 12 Arctic lorries overturned in the space of 2 miles on the motorway, scary stuff

Yeah the girlfriends. Only just had a new wing after someone clipped it while it was parked, and that is now damaged again along with the bonnet. Worring thing is, mine is parked in that spec tonight

Can't even leave it on the road as that isn't safe either, guy next doors got hit also.

Can you not claim for glass though? £50 excess and no affect on ncb usually.

Bonnet and wing are dented Dave.

Might still do that and get the bodywork done outside of insurance. Although her excess is only 100 quid she'll lose 2 years NCB.

House excess is also 100. Both policies are with Direct Line. I reckon it is a sly way of making taking more money because its very difficult to dispute once you're in this position.

My experience with house insurance was that you claim and it covers things, we had some vandalism a while ago on the house and cars and the house insurance just covered it all, no hassle. Wasn't Direct Line idiots though.

Thats what I was suggesting, everyone knows someone who can sort bodywork like that fairly cheap. You still lose ncb even if you only claim for the glass though?

Thats bad house insurance too, guess thats why they are so cheap.

We've claimed for loads of stuff on ours, new bath when old one cracked, bike which was stolen from outside my work, repairs to bathroom when my brother flooded it etc. All with Halifax.

Yeah my mums was with Pru, never a problem, even insured items like laptops, cameras etc. for theft or damage while they're not even in the house.

Direct Line have gone down in my estimation.

I didn't lose my NCB when I had a new windscreen the other month on the Astra. That was Admiral though.

Remains to be seen what Direct Line come up with but all this messing may affect my decisions at renewal time!
