Ah right, ta . WB is usually on Auto anyway. Think i really do need to invest in a tripod though. Theres a property company round by me thats knocking up some minted looking buildings, that are lit up usually in blue/green at night. Really wanna get some nice photos with the car in, but just cant seem to take a decent pic to save my life .

No, no no, thats the worst bit. I try and be arty and get a nice location, but then just fuck it up with my "efforts" at taking pictures .

I'll try and find a few choice examples....

Great sunset, Clean car, cockhead gets the shakes

Again half decent location, nice backdrop with the lit up buildings, half decent lighting.... cockhead gets the shakes

This was an attempt at a picture outside one of those buildings i mentioned. It was really annoying cause i was there ages playing with the settings and this was as good as i could get, even though to me it looked ace, the camera just couldnt pick it up... oh and on most of them of course cockhead got the shakes .

good (manfrotto are like the steinmetz of tripods )

Exposure is likely to be exposure bias, which will either under or over expose the pic.

I've you've no other control than that then you'll have to use the cameras estimation of what shutter speed is suitable.

At night it will be slow and you will need support.

Its usually better without flash as you get more natural light, street lights, traffic lights, interior light, whatever.

I also personally use the timer so I'm not even touching the camera when pic is being taken for even less shake

Guessing you just push that on the floor to steady the movements a bit then? Suppose its better than doing it free hand . Might have to start looking about for a propper tripod i think might aswell get a propper tripod so i can leave it on long exposure easier. Cheers for the advice .

If a tripod makes your feel like a gimp, you need a bigger lens.

Started doing that recently. The last pic with the blue lights is pretty shake free really, as i was down on the floor, camera on my knee and using the two second timer .

Doesn't have to be anything fancy - 18 quid, quick release and extends to 1 metre.

Tripod is the biggest single thing that will improve your night pics!

Yeah it has got a tripod hole, lol. what cam was that you used for the pic above? Its stuff like that im sure my cam wont do, as it looks like a high exposure level with short-ish shutter speed if that makes sense?

Yup, and it had better paint work than my new one does .... saying that, its hardly like theres anything up with it on this one, just that my old one was immaculate for the age of it . Still, managed to make money off it in the end, and i cant really complain at the car ive got now .
