Your tyres are the only contact your car has to the road (unless you're stupid and have lowered your car a bit too much). Why spend more on rollcage for a 1.2 than a set of decent tyres?

If you've heard bad things about Toyo in the wet then you're probably aware of Yokohamas reputation?
Pirelli Nero or Michelin if you want proper wet performance.

I personally cant say if toyos are bad in the wet or not,
I have nothing to compare it too,
All i can say is they are cheap now, Like £50 a tyre for T1-S's
I think they do wear quick mind

I've have PZero Nero's fitted to the back (at least I think they're on the rears..) but once the fronts have worn I'll get them all round - should be an interesting "winter" tyre methinks...

It maybe a world apart from you guys, cos ive got a vx...
but im currently running toyo proxes on the rear, and after driving them today (totally pissing down) i still couldnt lose traction.
once I get the OZ's for the front im going for them all round 
theyre a good road/track compromise (but they get faaaaar too hot for full on track work) so im told.....yokos if your into that

You say you couldn't lose traction... well that could mean that you weren't driving like a dick.
I've managed to get a VX to slip in the dry without a great deal of right foot... hell even my Nova SR would spin happily in the wet!

I've got Uniroyal RainSport 1's on at the mo, quite grippy in both dry and wet, certainly better than the Avon ZV3's that I had before. Also found the Toyo Proxes TS-1's to be better than the Avons.

Ive had Avon ZZ3's on my car for 2/3years ive had my car. They are excellent, really good in the wet too. I had falkens before and they were scary in the wet.
I fancy trying some more expensive jobs as i need to replace my fronts, so im either going to try michelen pilots, dad has 35 profiles on his bmw says they are ace, also looked at Eagle F1 and bridgestones if niks happy with them on his evo

Oh and Joffs right, tyres are you only contact with the road, i couldnt afford the avons the first time round but my dad said i should go for it and i wouldnt be dissapointed so i borrwoed money. Not only is it MUCH more fun to drive, its also a hell of alot safer! Cant say fairer than that"
