I think 470 is a bit pricey actually

do you know about bikes? 470 with what it has on it is a great price

Yeh it may sound good when you look at what its got but thats not always the case. Yeh it may have discs but they are most likely to be crap and low spec

Right...i WORK in a bike shop and one of our Main ranges of bikes that we sell are CB!

There FANTASTIC bikes and are VERY popular, the cape wrath is a wicked bike, got the GOLD award in What Mountain Bike etc

BUT your going to have MAJOR problems getting one now, as there in the process of launching the new range....were having real problems getting them from our supply ( cb direct ) and i know that customers of ours CAN'T get them off the net. But if you can, good on you.

ANy more quetions you have just ask...i sell them all the time so....

Greg,
First things first. THE MOST IMPORTANT aspect of any bike is that it should fit you. If you sit on it and don't feel comfortable then no amount of Deore or XT etc is going to make it a good bike. It will just be horrible.
If you buy a bike that suits your build, then as bit wear out and fall off you can replace them with decent stuff.
I chose my Trek 4500 because it was very comfortable for my 6ft 5 bod, and was all I wanted to spend. That was May '03. Now it has a Hope headset and mag pedals. Next up is Fox Forx. Then the gears will be upped to LX.
Please don't go only on what you read and are told. Try, make up your own mind, then buy.

Tony

good luck and enjoy!
