tbh, max speed is always bollox...they my old mans will do 145, but hes only got it to 130 odd and it was running out of juice for more...so its very unlikey. Also, like said, the cossies are propper rally cars, not the usually bog standard coupe etc And there quick, fucking quick might i had...plus with a little bit of dosh you can tune the things pretty well...although i would go with the new turbo route like reylands did in there two engines to get the most out of them

Only problems with cossies is that there getting on abit and most of the ones you will see will have been thrashed to shit
Btw, any know what the original RRP price of the escort cossies were? someone gave me a figure of 30k...but im sure they were cheaper than that? Also, whats the deal with the exhausts on them? i head that the reason they stopped production of the cossies was because of the legal requirments of the exhaust?

lucky for him then....but i would have thought on my old mans 2.8 A6 it would do 145....maybe its running shitly...but..i just think top speed is bollox anyways, mostof it will be inaccurate due to speedo's etc etc

GIBBS.

Vauxhall quote a top speed of 150mph for the Coupé Turbo.

Autocar tested it and it DID achieve 152mph.

So..

aye to that
the std cossies were always slightly restricted of what they could do, but like nismo said, give the engine a few bits and bobs and you will notice huge differences. Give it a new turbo and you have a rocket....wack new cams, head work blah blah...and you have a reylands engine that will fire your fat hairy arse off a line to 60 in under 3 seconds

Standard Escort Coss aren't that rapid but as said and with any turbo 4x4 can be made into a real weapon Still reckon a (decent) standard one would beat you Pat

aye, but i wasnt gonna list specs, would take a page atleast
i believe from stand still the reyland use to be able to do 2.89 seconds to 60, which is the fastest road legal car on the planet (cant think of anything faster). Eitherway, i remember reading that the car did 150 miles to a tank of fuel know wonder martin is selling the engine with todays fuel prices

from standstill (ie no launch?)?? if so, then surely he would be in the guiness book of records for having the faster road legal car??

one thing martin can be proud of is being in the guinness book of records for pulling a carvan at 123mph
