Used to have a Vi shape 214Si... errible, awful seating etc and t]stuff went wrong every week including the engine blowing up

Its a K-series engine, they tend to blow gaskets quite regularly. As far as I'm aware its not a jap design engine? Honda put a lot of engines into Rovers but this wasn't one of them. Also I believe its has a 1.8, not a 2.0.
Its the same engine as the Elise has, before Toyota put their 1.8 into the new models.
