i think the turbo isnt the bottle neck..... i think the fueling to provide the boost safely is lacking....

new fuel pump, reg, and a big FMIC is the way to go..

then,

bigger injectors
uprated pistons, bottom end....

moohahahhaha

Nothing changes does it.

Considering you always claim to be in the know. You should know that tuning a turbocharged car is completely different to a n/a car. The first steps in tuning a turbo is to up the boost. When you say my 'spec', the only thing in my spec that will up power is the re-map, all the others are to help it breath better and to run cooler. My next mod is to get a custom front mount intercooler so that I can increase the boost furthur, equalling more power.

You gave it the yawn to a normal question!!!!!!!!!

I dont always claim to know everything, and i never have. You lot do that for me

Given my cars engine, and the fact i've never owned a turbo, why should i know whats best first???? I dont reply to turbo posts other than conversions. Not tuning!!

And I always thought just "wacking up the boost" was a bad idea as it will decrease the engine/turbo life?

I agree turning up the boost on a standard engine is a bad idea.

It's better to make sure the engine can breathe better first and that there is sufficient cooling to cope with the increased heat levels. I do really need an intercooler at the moment due to my increased boost but I'm working on that one. After that though, the spec it's running should be fine and 260bhp would be a good point to stop.

I doubt I'd want more power than that, but if I decided to go furthur then I'd have to think about uprated parts like turbo, pistons, clutch, gearbox, gaskets, fuel pumps etc..

Theres still a safe limit as which the boost can be upped to though Damsel.

And the first mod should be the breathing in my opinion.

upping boost by a small amount will be fine on olfer cars but modern cars you really need them to be mapped as well.

mine is mapped, FMIC and I only run 1.5 psi more than standard but make 30hp more
