no, i thought an intercooler, just cooled the engine down, not the air comming in for combustion

it was only a theoretical idea, i simply wondered why it hadn't been done, the theory was ok(ish), but i now understand more of the practicalities

2nd law of chemical thermodynamics I'm afraid (at least I think it's the 2nd) - energy can neither be created nor destroyed in a chemical/physical processes
