Ctr very nice, but not very usable.
Astra has 250nm!

Explain how you think a CTR is not usable?????

I suspect he means the spread of torque. the astra with being a turbo and having a flat curve of 250nm compared to the peak the CTR has of around 200nm requires less down shifting. the CTR makes around 130lb ft along a flat curve mid range.

GSi is slower down the 1/4 mile. gearing makes the most of the CTR's power.

Give me the GSi over the Mini, CTR, Leon etc etc etc etc.

A few of us watched a Astra GSi and a CTR racing around Silverstone last year, and the GSi beat it around the corners and the straights.

Id take the new leon for my money, given the right driver it would rip a standard GSi apart

granted its 2k more but for that money you get a trakker and a years subscription, more radical styling (GSi bores me!), and a more powerful engine.

Plus the only thing "Seat" about it is the shell

you really think so?

probably just the fact that the Leon comes in Ovni yellow, and catches my eye every time!!

ermm, think the Leon sits on 18"s??

It looks alot more sporty that the base models IMO

and the astra..... well it just doesnt!

so handles better and holds its value makes it a better car

what about people who want a spare wheel, or who want rear seats or who want a boot. mini does not seem better there. or maybe they don;t want to spend as much as 18K.

That's only because base model seats look pants,

and you can't make a seat look this good

I was definitely NOT defending the Cooper S, i was saying those are the only good points it has!

The gearing is too long, the car is not quick enough, its overpriced, its a BMW, its wank, its not my cup of tea

(cooper s works is quick tho)

Anyway if i was buying a motor I would want it to look good to me as standard

I think if you can get a Astra GSi for 13k then thats good value - they have them on network q for that with only 3000 miles which is really good in my opinion.....

Love the car - wish I could have one.
