at every other bodyshop you pay when the works finished, not when its half done!

There would be some complication in paying bits at a time but the bodyshop would still have major claim over the car until payment is received in full.

Plus, you can charge for storage, this might absorb Desmonds contributions renderering the initial bill still quite large.

Sad story.

Dave said he had asked Des to pay for his work upto date before he was to carry on, as he had heard storys about Des and money. An till the date i spoke to him he had been waiting months and not seen anything after number of times he had asked Des for cash.
i am only going off what Dave told me when i rang him, i wanted to buy the car as i knew Dave wanted his money and shot of Des, and Des wasent paying and knowing the Law about ownership (bodyhsop and non payers etc) i offered......

even if i had got it wouldent of been asmuch as a shame as this

Don't want to sound harsh, but I can see very little difference in the before and after pics, apart from the wheels.
BTW is it wise to post on the net that the car is left outside, presumably unguarded? What little that is still salvagable is probably gonna dissapear tonight

Thats harsh!

Also about this bodyshop owning the car after a number of days without payment. Surely they'd have to notify the customer before they decide its theirs to, well, fuck up!!!

i aggre with you all, its harsh,

however...

If he has taken peoples money off the board, to supply a service of getting parts (like JC design etc etc) he should of at least sorted that out.

There is no excuse really for ripping people off, even if he was having problems with this dave fello.

If he knew at the time he was having problems, then he should of said there and then that he would not be able to order parts, not just ignore his customers and run away with their money.

Just my 2 pence

des doesnt owe me money. i ordered some parts through him and there still not here after 9 months, he has emailed jc but got no reply, des is a good friend and i dont think he;d do this to me. he owes me a rear bumper & sideskirts and i will get them.

kris- just rims &lights!(19" rims btw) are you f**king blind? a car that he's poured thousands into is now worth next to nothing due to some pricks neglagence. all the bodywork was blended in and now it all needs re-blending back in. loads of rust and maybe some under body damage aswell.

the car has now been moved to a safe location, and thankfully none of the major engine mods were stolen.

no one deserves to be treated like this
