cheap.

problems. rear arms, electrics particluarly window and wiper motors, if the alternator is noisy then thats a big job, make sure fan comes on, tyres at front car wear quickly, alighment can be knocked out easy, check under the rear window and along the seals of the windscreen for rust, check ABS light works and goes out, check turbo boost, check accelerator cable not streched ( easy problem to fix) make sure discs are not worn, top rocker cover gasket pourous and leaks but cheap to fix, make sure it has been properly serviced with decent oil, check with previous owners if it has any problems.

turbo, check for black smoke a small puff is not a major problem is it has not been boosted for a while, does it overboost if you floor it from low revs it should hit the top of the dash gauge then settle.

Cheers vibs that looks a good deal doesnt it?

also who are good with these to insure?

greenlight. need to be 21 and one years no claims. best just to phone round places

Edited my original post, that was in reference to the interior. I agree about the MK1 being nicer than the MK2.

Well just my opinion....

If i was to buy a car with performance like the GT i would not like to be worrying at every corner wether i was going to come out of it alive.

My car aint fast but it's quick enough. The handling is amaizing for such a big car and is controlable and predictable. That's how a car should be.

106GTI for example..Eveyone loves them......Why?? Because they have the handling to match the performance.

I would take a test drive and drive it to the limits on some nice roads and then you can pass judgment.

I would love and have always wanted a turbo car but if it came to the expence of sacrificing the driving enjoyment i would rather have a high power low weight N/A like the 106 GTI.

As i said just my opinion

I am after a turbo'd run about...what better car than the GT...the handling can be sorted to a good level with some coilovers etc...so not all bad...106GTI I admit is a great car but its just too small for my likings...smaller then GT in fact...
