so is pinking really bad?? small explanation of why? im not sure if the pinkin and cutting out is linked though!
its about pressure above the piston and when inverse pressure meets the pressure from the valve, the two pressurised areas push fuel onto the top of the cylinder and when it ignites it can and has blown chunks out of the piston, ie yes
ahh shoot...... would a new ecu and remap sort this out..... ing timing fuel etc??

no mate it really wouldnt, potential piston damage spending a shit load of money on a new ecu wouldnt, get it compression tested, or go out and buy a compression tester and call me

clearly you can wiggle a screwdriver and fix it
mate its going to cost some money, dont bother trying to buy a new ecu because it wont be that, probs find out how high compression is, if its too high could be a number of things, also if yu get a diagnostic machine wire that up and see if any faults come through

ah balls!! grrr
on diogs it just sayd engine speed sensor (but is this not the fault because when doing it the engines not running?)

probably is mate, get the fault codes read off and that should sort you out, if that fails bring out the compression tester

that would be correct cammack if no other codes are coming up then i dont think it will be a sensor tbh.

ive had the codes cleared before and no luck! i had a headgaskget change and head skimmed which would result in this high compression and pinking right?
im still not convinced its linked to this cutting out problem though!
