LMAO @ cruise insurance. I used to work for Direct Line, and cruise insurance is news to me! Like another poster said, when your own car is insured for SOCIAL, DOMESTIC, PLEASURE, that pretty much covers all aspects of your insurance. The only 'group insurance' I can think of is what some garages use... Even still, that is called Traders Insurance.

I may be missing something here, but a certain insurer may state that additional insurance is needed if the car is to be part of a 'cruise', but this is mainly specialist insurance groups, such as Classic Car insurance. Honestly mate, if you're going to argue about something so small and ridiculous, do it in another thread. This has nothing to do with the topic in hand you spammer

Yeah I split up with my girlfriend a month / 6 weeks ago, but it was my own choice, I made the decision to end it as it wasn't working - so not really a problematic situation for me as I was the one that created it.

The rest of you post made no sense to me so I've not even given it a second thought.

Hang about - when did I say anything along the lines of "having a lady lined up"?
I said I was going out with a female friend - which I did, I've known her for 15 years or so, we go out for a chat and a catch up, we get on well, we're friends, willit ever be more than that? I don't know, but men are allowed to have female friends without them "being lined up"

You've really come across as a bit of a plank in this thread and pretty much ruined it with all the crapness you've brought into it.

Luke (xa0s), get well soon, hope you recover and the police find the people responsible and they get what they deserve - attempted murder.

Don't get mardy at what I'm going to say, just merely point something out. Any meet of more than 3 cars is classed as a cruise (Which is sad I know, we found this out when we orginised the legal cruise in Nuneaton, as we had to find all this info out - http://www.106owners.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=3143) - therefore you arranging no illegal meets isn't actually true then!?!

Convoys on the roads and car meets/shows/cruises are two different things - convoys require no special insurance as it's be impossible to enforce! As long as all the cars involved are all legal (taxed, insured and MoT'd) then no problem - if this isn't the case then why didn't all the HGV drivers doing the rolling road blocks (against rising fuel prices) get nicked for not having valid insurance?

Car shows/cruises have to have certain insurance policys inplace to cover the people that attend - the general public etc, this is why the vast majority of ad-hoc cruises that get organised on websites are illegal and the police break them up and disperse the people there.
I'm certain that Ian will know all the ins and outs of the finer details so I'd suggest you U2U him if you're that desperate to know.

Definition of a car club - is a club that is authorised by the MSA (Motor Sport Association) This comes at a cost aswell. They hold activities such as hill climbing, night owls, auto solo's - I'm not saying that go karting makes it a club and thats all I keep hearing we might go, go-karting once theres a few members.

Err I'm pretty sure that all of them aren't illegal!
Trax, VBOA, PVS, Ford Fair etc etc etc
I reckon they're all above board somehow.......
They are all "car meetings" but on a bigger scale.

What exactly did you get right?

You said if people went to a meet in say a pub, and went for something to eat and a drink, if they happened to go home in the same direction they need insurance for it

That is completely different to insurance for car shows such as trax, pvs, fcs etc

No you plank it's public liability insurance that any event open to the public will need - car show, dog show, inflatable wife show.......

So no there isn't a specific "cruise insurance" or a "dog show insurance" etc
People have been trying to explain for the past 6-7 pages that there is no such thing as "convoy insurance" but you wouldn't have it as you'd heard somewhere that there was such a thing.

Oh well, you're the one with egg on your face now, maybe you can get your e-friend TimbaBLAND to lick it off for you?

No you didn't get it right at all, did you go to a special needs school?

There is no such thing as cruise insurance, maybe on a fucking ship going to barbados but not a group of people driving to the same place

Insurance for car shows is completely different

The saying, you can't put something where there isn't anything comes to mind with you

Let's just end this cruise insurance business now eh?

The point you was trying to make iirc was that cs meets are illegal cos they don't have 'cruise insurance', which Jules has just told you is Public Liability insurance.

Corsasport has Public Liability Insurance

Thank you very much, end of.

Can we just keep this about Luke now
