yes, granted, he thought the risk was acceptable.
i didnt say anything about the tigers being on the underground
i just think that 100 wild animals are more likely to kill you than 100 people in the same circumstances

I recent years, soldiers from the uk were sent as back up to locations in the middle east that they should not have been.
In many cases they were not much more than TA personnel, and probationary MPs were sent into situations they weren't trained or prepared for and as a result, lost their lives.
People were sent short of boots, weapons, supplies, breathing apparatus, and in vehicles that were incapable of operating under the local conditions.
They were hardly gung-ho, armed to the teeth Marines going in to battle fully prepared and aware.
That is all I was saying.
I'm realy not having a go.
i see your point but i was actually talking about the present day too
but to add to that point i would call war veterans who didnt have a choice and did experience poor conditions and from the uk far more a hero than people who sign up willingly in this day and age
however i fear this is now straying far from the point i was trying to make about people just doing thier job and shouldnt be branded a hero or stupid in relation to their choice of job role and achievements whilst undertaking it

my fault for mentioning underground i dunno if people missed the point but i meant those people who got bombed didnt expect or provoke and probably never even considered there being a risk and was in answer to rob saying animals kill for no reason people dont

I knew what you meant Kerry
I also agree with you about people doing their jobs. most firemen woulnd want to be branded a hero for dying on the job, or policemen, or whatever.
but they do put themselves at more of a risk than a normal civilian does IMO.
although, yes, there are often completely unprovoked attacks from humans too.

Snakes on a plane could have easily been snakes on the underground

They tense around the main torso of it's prey and with each breath the prey takes, as it exhales, they close up even more so each breath in is restricted.

as said, my uncle has a reptile shop, ill try to dig out some photos of his house, every wall of that was covered in tanks with various snakes, dragons, spiders, scorpions etc, in the middle of his room was a HUGE glass tank with an adult boa constrictor in. as a young kid i was allowed to hold it, no doubt it could easily kill me if it wanted. i dont think i was put at stupid risk, my uncle knew everything there is to know about snakes etc, he wouldnt have put me in excess danger, as no doubt steve urwin wouldnt put his kid in excess danger with the croc....

I think what she means is that to someone who has done a course on it all, etc. then it would be called constriction and they should know this terminology.
But to everyone else it could be either (although are technically different!)

14 pages of nonsense
If you liked the guy or you didn't i think it's maybe a bit disrespectful to cry him a wanker and an idiot the day after he is tragically killed.
Those who actually have an interest in the conservation of wild animals and not just basing their opinions on a television programme that was born to raise awareness of endangered species will know he used the money gained from his tv work and his celebrity status to aid and protect the future of tens of species.

As a matter of interest Lynny, would he have known how to subdue or stop the Boa, in the event that it had decided it wanted to kill you?

id ask himbut he was killed few years ago i cant remember any of it, just seen photos of myself with the boa around me. id imagine that if it were at the stage where it started to constrict around me, he'd prolly get a knife and cut it in half

As Ive said on one of the other pages...constrictor snakes only kill (via constricting) what they can eat. So if you are too big then it just wont bother and would strike you and bite you (not poinsonous though).
Also, they are easy to pull off via the head or tail if they start constricting, its only if you are alone and it gets round your arms that your in trouble.
