Good stuff. Gets great reviews. I'd suggest either getting it unbuilt from Halfrauds and building yourself or getting a decent local bike shop to build it. I'd not trust Halfords.

My car service normally runs upto about £700

Ben - new chain/cassette and some new bearings somewhere plus i asked them to stick some new bar tape and huds on while they had it.

Also told I need new wheels but new road bike in 2 months time so decided to leave it at the above. Its only cos I am selling it to someone I know that I even had that work done TBH.

If you ever and in a whole bike they will always find something else that 'needs' replacing I''ve learnt to only take in the offending item now

Yeah I will do the same now. I only had a new chain and cassette last May so was a bit alarmed that needed changing. Then I worked out how many 1000s of miles I've done since and I've probably only lubed the bike half a dozen times.

I ride with a guy who owns a bike shop, only problem is he doesn't tend to get his hands dirty any more. I always agree with him what needs doing, then it's passed onto his mechanics and it's them to find other 'faults'!

Why not just get a bike on interest free? Quite a few bike shops were doing 36 months interest free when I was looking for a bike..
