PS, im not saying if drugs are right or wrong, my issue is the fact people do not have a choice in the matter.
Who was the super human in REAL charge (not whats on a bit of paper from hundreds of years ago) who dictated what a human can or cannot do..

at the end of the day drugs = bad, so banning something that = bad, = not a bad thing

I've never taken drugs, asides from being hotboxed by some mates at one point. I've never smoked either.
Seriously, I can't believe that some of you are arguing the plus points of drugs, one of them being that alcohol is a drug and if thats ok, then so should E, coke, etc.

Driving your car round is bad for pollution, so banning that would be a good thing?

Cars kill more....
They are bad then according to you "equation" so we must ban them?
Planes pollute the world, shall we ban aircraft?
Beer kills by far the most, its addictive (can be), has it been banned?

Looking back, i'm with Steve on this one.
Alcohol may well be addictive, but you'd need a larger amount, considering a smaller amount of a specific drug will get you hooked on it.

Rubbish, a tiny drop can make a person an alcoholic.
Hence why ex alcholics are never allowed to drink ever again? You certainly don't need a large amount of it.

At least those that HAVE taken them can look at it from both angles, where-as those that haven't are looking at it from only 1 angle........

So I must have taken drugs, to be able to comment on the bad side?
The fact is, that alcohol/normal prescription drugs are a lot more regulated. Whilst I agree that there will be some negative effects, they'll be a lot less than most of the drugs mentioned in this thread. You've got less chance of having a bad pill/pint when its regulated.

as far as i can see there are two angles in this
drugs = good
drugs = bad
i do not need to have taken drugs to know drugs = bad

Different examples but the same end result.
Bad for humans in 1 way or another, so ban it. Going by YOUR equation steve.....

I agree with that, but thats because they've been addicted previously, not because they've never drunk it before.

so basically what your trying to say daimo, is people should be allowed to do what they want.
so in which case your general jist is that drugs should be legal to buy, and legal to use?

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rather than ban it, control it!!! Put research into it, get rid of the bad dealers and pushers. Make a controlled safer substance and everyones fine.

people will still sell bad drugs, there will still be bad dealers.
people will want to produe stuff cheaper, and as a result will still end up getting cut with stuff

In fairness, I don't think its as easy as that. Whilst I can see the arguments for regulating it, I still think you're more likely to get fucked up on regulated drugs, than regulated alcohol.

Should people be allowed to do what they want WITH THEIR OWN BODY....
Yes..
In terms of a general, do what you want, then no.
