Is there certain things I should be bringing with me on the day? All this talk of tools is getting me worried

Has anyone got any links to websites that give good tips on track days? I remember an episode of Fifth Gear when Tiff Needell was explaining about not putting your handbrake on when you come into the pits as the brakes will be hot and can disintegrate when you release the handbrake?!

I can see this day turning out expensive

Cheers for the help guys!
I hate driving the damn thing for long journeys as it is, but add a shit load of tools and axle stands etc and it gets really annoying.
I'd definately be bringing oil etc.

tbh trackdays are one of the hardest forms of abuse that a car can take, much more than most motorsport, due to the amount of time spent on track. Plus most trackday cars have much less prep than racecars.

have a swatche on my site http://www.trackscotland.co.uk/

guide here

http://www.trackscotland.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=14

dont pop your handbrake on... the brakes will be hot. As they cool, they contract... your car will roll and the brakes will get hot spots/ pad material stuck on em.

Let the car run for a wee while after coming in, esp if no cool down lap.... just to let fluids circulate.

Not meaning to scare anyone as trackdays have excellent safety records, but just something to bear in mind if it's your first time on track. Accidents can happen if people drive inappropriately so keep the red mist at bay. These were taken at a Stock Hatch race meeting at Brands, where the driver's are VERY competitive

Agreed totally, but just wanted to make sure that the CS day wasn't the first
They'll be a safety briefing before as with all trackdays and as long as people pay attention the day should run fine without incidents
