Now I know i've never heard anyone pronounce glass like that.

Perhaps if they had a speech impediment, a stutter and a stroke they might do, but that would be an extreme case.

If 'glass' had one 's' it would be correct to pronounce it in the Northern fashion, but it has two, so it isn't correct to do so.

JR, Chaz & Dave, Steptoe & Son, Samuel Peeps, few other southern people too

That's ridiculous.

Chas & Dave are commoners, Steptoe & Son are actors, Samuel Pepys is a 17th century author and JR is royalty.

None of the above could possibly pronounce one word the same even if they tried Matthew!!!

Tom, go to your room and think about what you have done.

And don't come back until you are ready to apologise.

I had to quote Eckers. This thread is fucking brilliant.

I could very nearly quote every post.

I can't read beyond page 4 as I need to retire to my oxygen tent as I have a chest infection and have LMCP,C&BO far too much.

Matt, Tom, Topshot, Nath and a couple of others have reduced me to a giigling wreck with their astute and hilarious comments.

Top work boys. You've all cheered my right up.
