Personal opinion. You stick the best of both in the same cage i know who will be fitter and who will walk out. Does Muay tai have any greats? nada i can think of in comparison.

Mate you couldn't even spell it right, in your first post you spelt it 'tai quan do'
Tae Kwon Do is basically a kicking art, mainly snap kicks. A Thai fighter would demolish a Tae Kwon Do fighter.
Tim, there's quite a bit of difference even between Thai & kickboxing.

Tae Kwon Do figter in K1?

K1 Champ - Matt Skelton (Thai)
Eval Denton (Thai)
K1 J-MAX champ - Masato (Thai)
Ernesto Hoost (Thai)

That's just off the top of my head.

thai fighters can only fight close range, it is very rare to see thai fighters with a long range, which is why in Ultimate fighting, cage fights etc kickboxers, Tae Kwondo people come out on top, but must admit watching Muay thai is very enjoyable, and they are tough!!

Thai can fight long & close range. UFC & cage fighting is mostly close range, not long range - which is why grapplers and the likes of the Grace's usually win.

so why do most thai fighters clinch, and use elbows and knees, they arent long range shots.
as for UFC, i was talking about thai and kickboxing match ups, we all know jiu jitsu comes out top majority of the time

Well then Tim you'll know Thai fighting is the best striking art
I'm not knocking Tae Kwon Do, i did it for a couple of years & fought at competition level.
