I cant decide if i want a dual one or two single ones
Racetech do a dual one

But Stack do some nice looking singles

The Racetech one is mechanical and the Stack ones are electrical.
Which would be easier to install - given i am not planning on taking the oil temperature from the sump plug?

stack stuff is always simple looking. and simple looking gauges are easier to read.

Electric ones would be easier to install, yes?
Im pretty set on getting the Stack ones

Supplied complete with associated sensor (wiring not included).
So all i would need is the wiring for it...

I think i get it now.
I can get a sandwich plate which fits between my engine and oil filter which will then allow me to run the oil pressure and oil temperature sensors off it....
This will work the same for elctronic gauges too.
Correct?

X2.....
Is it common for a 1600 Corsa to suffer oil pressure/temperature issues on the road with normal day to day driving??

Why can i not just have them?
Do i have to have a genuine automotive technical reason to have them?

I just see it as pointless tbh and a waste of money.
Spend the money on those things you put in your tyres to warn you if youve got a flat tyre.
Id say theres more chance of getting a blowout than suffering high oil pressure/temperature.
Im just thinking like you, being on the safe side etc.

at the comments, get the gauges, it isn't illegal and you can sell them later anyway.
As for what gauges get the electrical ones, so much easier and you won't have oil lines going into the car either, for the best oil temp reading you should use the sump plug as thats the temp of the oil going back into the engine.

but doesnt the sump act as an oil cooler so the reading from the plug will be the coolest?

i would go for electrical ones, easier to run the wires thru than pipes.
i prefer stack stuff, i run stack gauges in my 1.6 16v corsa.

Thanks
Reason im avoiding the sump plug is because i also invested in one of them magnetic sump plugs - again totally pointless i guess - so erm dont really want it near that.
Now ive been reading into sandwich plates, would that not just be the easiest option for me?

just stick a sandwich plate in it is the easiest, other options are to put a temp sender in the sump and then get a t piece to take off the pressure from the standard oil pressure switch fitting.

I think ill go with the sandwich plate, it will still give out temp and pressure readings that are useful and accurate wouldnt it?

Cool.
I have been thinking hard about that one too. I dont like them on the MFD or replacing the ashtray.
Im pretty sure they will be going on the A pillar, preferably i only wanted the one gauge so it was a bit more discreet, but nevermind.

I went on the stack website where they list their dealers in the UK, the only one it had listed was demon-tweeks.
Although merlinmotorsport.co.uk seem fairly reasonable
Edit: £113 delivered inc VAT for stack oil temp and pressure @ D-T
£104 delivered inc VAT @ merlin
