How many Fords have you owned to justify that statement?

Nice cars, my dad had one when it was new in '98 but I drove it when I passed my test and it was really comfy, quite fast (feels faster than a Corsa GSi/Sport) and looks tidy.

Nice upgrade is to fit the 16" wheels from the Mondeo and get it on it's arse.

not the best in the world round town but will give 40mpg on a run, try and get the rs2000 tho and ditch the egr system they are crap, decent exhaust and lower it and it will be ace, have drven a few and thy are comphy with the full leather package, stickmto the road well amd can be made pritty quick cars. Only killer is the rust thats all.

Or

"what car do you have?"

"what does it matter?"

Or

"what car do you have?

"a GTi"

Anyone remember the one in the tv series car wars that was always breaking down ???!! possibly an rs2000 as opposed to the gti but whatever it was it just goes to prove how unreliable fords were back then . fords off this age should be avoided as everyday used cars unless you have a healthy walet and plenty off time to keep on top off the repairs !!

again just to repeat what has already been said check for rust, it can be a major thing on fords off this age.

With the ford comment, once again I beg to differ.

My mate had a 172k Escort Mk4 which had no rust and although he gave it abuse was more reliable than my 50k W reg Corsa

I love it when people on a Corsa forum slag off other cars.

Makes for entertaining reading!

And to be fair, Corsas are pretty shite.

No worse than a Ford for example.

Corsa is a much older car so not really a fair comparison.

What makes me laugh is the people who slag of corsas, on a corsa forum.
It doesn't happen on other sites.
