Was On my way home last night and a car came flying up behind me. Didn't think anything of it until i realise they way i drive home was closed so had to go down a very nice and fast bit of road. the car that was behind was now infront and well it was a starlet 1.3 sr lowered exhaust etc. Lets say the wee 1.2 8v made vauxhall proud stuck with him the whole way and nearly every corner was stuck to his bumper but because its only 1.2 it jst didn't ave the power to pass him!

So this has now spured me on to maybe xe or 1.4 (depending on insurance) the wee corsa. My mate has a front end of an astra gte 77k motor sitting on a crate at work. Every time i see him he like when are we going to put the xe in your corsa??

How much are people paying for xe insurance?? im 21 with no ncb so could imagine it will be more than the whole conversion cost and car put together!! When i xe'd my nova it was still down as a 1.2 and well i use to s*it myself everytime i saw blue lights and well im abit more grown up now so wouldn't be doing it again without proper insurance!! My lieance is worth more than a fast un insured car!!

i take it the starlet isn't a 1.3 turbo? as there is no way you'd stick with that.

Got to be a wind up

My old 1.2 8v took 22 to 60 !

You wonder why people spend 4k + on engine parts when there are gems like this out there

And then you woke up? Not being funny, but I can't see how a 1.2 8v Corsa would keep up with a 1.3 n/a Starlet.

As you said a starlets 0 - 60 is just under 12 seconds. The corsa on book iirc is 18 seconds. Reality is its more like 20/22 so unless he was hitting the limiter and taking forever to change gear (So a shit driver) there is no chance in hell you could have kept up.

He already stated the guy was hitting the limiter... Can't people read? Get on the phone to brentacre and see how much insurance would be to XE your Corsa. But in regards to converting to a 1.4... Might as well just go for the better spec car in the first place.
