My boss has a new L200 Animal truck.
It is extremely uncomfortable to sit in. Seats are horrible.

I'm going for an Animal now as I didn't realise it was the top spec model. Warrior is next down.

they aren't rubbish. Very commercial but a decent work horse, wouldn't want to use one as a car though.

I get the train to work so mine would be used solely to hoon about on a weekend going to football etc.

Would be the same as this. Although I think I prefer them without the chrome bars...I can't decide.

Thoughts?

Like I said they are pretty commercial and a bit old fashioned. Take a drive of one first just to make sure you could put up with it. We have one but it's used just for work, towing a trailer etc which it's pretty handy for but as a car it would get tiresome.
How come you are after one? Seems an odd choice.

I've driven loads as my dads always had Mitsubishi jeeps of one kind or another.
I wont be doing too many miles so fancy something big. Plus I need to be able to cart a decent load (nothing major) round in the back every now and again. Can get one like the above for 8k with decent miles... The Animals come with leather...CD...leccy windows...and some other toys so it wouldnt exactly be roughing it. The look of the interior is basic I agree though but that doesn't bother me.
Other option is an estate but for 8k you dont get much as for that money I would only be wanting a decent spec Audi or BMW...

Lack of power, driving position is awfull, suffer from "mitsi wiper syndrome"
and like i said, my opinion is based on the fact i work on them, same reason i wouldnt own a honda.

Plus, if/when you get the arse out on one. It stays out until you hit something with it or just crash.

i wouldnt buy a pickup as a car personally
i have a navara and it has lecy windows cd player air con
still feels very agricultural, bad driving position, by no means comfortable, very bumpy and rolly
cant fit lots in the back really as it is a 4 door so has shorter loading space
if you get one i would personally check it has plenty of hooks, rail round back window etc to tie stuff down, mine lacks this i have to strap things from wheel arch to wheel arch
oh and they drink diesel lucky to get any more than 20mpg

They aren't lacking in power, ok they are slow on the roads but they have enough grunt to pull trailers and get around on fields, which believe it or not is what they are for. Seating position isn't great agree'd, no idea what mitsi wiper syndrome is but I've never seen any bother with the wipers on them.
Doesn't seem to make them rubbish....

Exactly. They are never going to break any land speed records as they are built to carry and pull things. I'm seriously debating getting one. Diesel wouldn't be a problem either as I will be able to get 80% of it free from my dads business.
