Finally came to my senses and got rid of my slow as fuck 206

Honestly its a cracking engine but when your doing 300+ miles a week they are sooo sluggish out of town, drive them right and you're laughing at 600miles to a tank

Anyway pushed the boat out and had a good look about diesels

Ibiza TDi FR

Got the car for £8500 in the end, has 19k with brand new eagle f1's on the front with slightly worn zero nero's on the back.

What do you lot think?

Get it mapped mate, best mod you will ever do. My mate had a silver one with 180bhp/280lbft, very stealthy lol

Yeah its going for a remap after christmas, my mates is remapped and he has chased a civic type-r before .

Gonna be weird getting used to a 6 speed box after 2 corsa's and a 206.

It will chase it but I can assure you it wont catch it

What map are you planning on goin for???

I would go for the CustomCode personally, its supposidly clutch freindly compared to any of the others

I reckon it could. Lighter, slightly less BHP, but bags more torque.

Things you shoud do to it!

1) Map it (custom code or ptorque)
2) rear anti roll bar
3) rear spacers

then it will be a half decent drive although the fr suspension is diffeernt to mine so it may not be as boat like.

still good cars just scary when going round corners but the arb is one of the best things you can do to it.

although it makes it a bit more twitchy/tempermental in the wet

It hasn't lol my bro has it insured and i have/had a 206 lol

The 206 had usual problems of a french car plus the switching off fault which was intermittent, got a decent amount for it which pleased me enough to change.

Picking it up tomorrow, cant wait

Not sure which remap I'll be getting yet, haven't really looked at them yet tbh.

For remaps either look at Custom Code or go and see Paul at RS Tuning in Leeds, or even shoot over to Awesome GTI in Manc.

Get yourself signed up on www.ibizaoc.com/forums quite a few members around the yorkshire area, we always have the best meets Had 30-40 at one a few weeks back!

Edit; don't get a P-Torque map, his pd130 maps are wank, and his rollers are out

Trust me mate it wont, I had many a do with my mates old mapped Ibiza with the missus CTR and the result was always the same. Gotta admit tho that for a diesel it was bloody quick and wasnt as easy as I thought it would be lol.

dont be daft

CTR are very light

Have you tried to race one

I cant pass one with 210+ BHP and 300+ibs/ft

Its the weight that is the key

Yup, same 0-60, quicker 1/4mile, higher top speed. 2 of my mates running that power were at santa pod the day before BMW show, and were taking all the M3's there
