Is your mum really the main driver? What with it being your car.

It'll void your insurance should you have a bump.

Fit security devices, cat 1 alarm & immobiliser.

Reduce annual milage (but stick to it or you will pay)

Get a smaller engined car.

Just don't mention which one, if they come on here and find you your insurance is likely to at least triple, plus they'll know you're the main driver

Then you should buy a lower group car.

You could use the same mentality if you said, yeh well, i had to rob the granny, she had more money than me, so its ok.

Its fine aslong as you dont crash, but if you do, you're proper fucked.

By the way, if it's likely that if your mum is the main driver, it will have to be her name on the V5C (logbook). Also, if you have put a certain amount of No Claims Bonus on it because of the car she currently drives, this isn't transferable from policy to policy, unless it's cancelled on the other.

You see, this is where my advice for your first car comes in. Get one as low powered as possible, so that you can insure it legally.

I bet you tried running before you could walk, didn't you Will?

If you have the new keeper supplement, yes you can.

Nothing wrong with putting your mum on the log book. Just it won't be your car

And don't even think about modifying the car. 1) you will need to declare the mods to the insurance company 2) the insurance company will almost certainly know it isn't your mums car.
